I7RL is a new rugby sevens league taking shape across Portugal, Spain, and the wider Iberian Peninsula. We're recruiting founding clubs, players, and partners now, be part of the league from day one.
The League
I7RL is an annual off-season summer rugby sevens competition bringing together clubs from Portugal and Spain in a fast-paced, high-level league. It gives existing rugby clubs an additional competitive season after the traditional 15-a-side campaign, more rugby for players, more to enjoy for supporters, and more visibility for clubs year-round. Teams compete in a regular season across multiple host cities before advancing to a championship Finals Weekend, where the Iberian champions are crowned. As it grows, I7RL aims to build a multi-tier competition with promotion and relegation, creating opportunities for clubs of every level. It starts with a founding group of clubs, it starts with you.
To grow rugby across the Iberian Peninsula by providing a premier off-season 7s competition that develops players, strengthens clubs, and inspires supporters.
To become Europe's leading club rugby sevens league and the premier summer rugby competition, uniting Portugal and Spain through fast-paced, competitive, and accessible rugby.
